Determined to make a change in her life, Ari considered her options and created a plan. She looked up the requirements for taking college classes while in high school and found that she could begin with a summer class.

Cooper thought she was crazy to give up summer vacation, but he approved of her determination to stop obsessing about Gregg.

Cedric was delighted that she wanted to challenge herself and quickly signed the necessary papers. However, telling Gregg and Jimmy that she would be too busy to continue caring for Jimmy two days a week was more difficult.

Jimmy cried, and Ari crossed her fingers behind her back and promised to still do things with him. Gregg hugged her and said how much they’d miss her. Ari fought back her tears.

Riding home, Ari felt more alone than ever. Nevermore and Morrigan swooped down and flew beside her.
